"Our guiding principle was that design is neither an intellectual nor a material affair, but simply an integral part of the stuff of life, necessary for everyone in a civilized society."
- Walter Gropius

The
Bauhaus
Background

Bauhaus was a pioneering German school of art, design, and architecture (1919–1933), founded by Walter Gropius in Weimar and later based in Dessau and Berlin. It fused craft, fine art, and industry to create functional, minimalist designs. Closed by the Nazi regime, its alumni spread its ideas worldwide, shaping modern design.
Assignment
Design 3 posters for a hypothetical exhibition of toys inspired by Bauhaus design
Initial Concepts
Utopian Toys" at the 1923 Bauhaus Exhibition showcased playful, modular learning objects—colorful blocks, ship‑building sets, and puppets—by Alma Siedhoff‑Buscher and colleagues. Using simple geometry, primary colors, and honest materials, the display embodied Bauhaus ideals: creativity through play, form serving function, and designs suited to affordable production.

Bauhaus Inspired Toys
Toys were designed in Adobe Illustrator using geometric forms. Special thanks to my daugher, who let me use her toys for this project.

Typography
Creating letters by using basic forms and the Rubik's Cube squares and playing with the angules.

Initial Drafts
Exploring backgrounds, sizes and objects position.
